Thought for Thursday

“Judaism boasts of no exclusive revelation of eternal truths that are indispensable to salvation, of no revealed religion in the sense in which that term is usually understood.”

    LOL…. I don’t have time today. Maybe tomorrow. 🙂

  3. Really? That doesn’t seem quite right.

Really. Judaism doesn’t teach that only through following what’s revealed in the Tanakh can one be “saved”. Actually, most of that revelation is relevant only for a very very small group of people: the House of Israel. The righteous of the nations will have a place in heaven, no matter where they come from. Since there is no original sin, and only the very basic laws give to Noah to bind the non-Jews, there is no need for a Christian type saviour. I am sure many of my Muslim and Zoroastrian acquanitences are on the path to heaven. 🙂

This non-exclusivity of Judaism is one of the beauties of my religion.
