7 Quick Takes Friday

This week, on Monday, Yonah got on his bus in Haifa and… after ten minutes he realized he didn’t get on the bus that takes him home in Haifa, but the one that brings him home to Tel Aviv. He “made the same mistake” three more times this week, and he was a great big help here while I struggled with my back all week long. Thank you, Yonah.

Yesterday I got to babysit my two nephews and my niece. It was more than fun. Whenever and wherever I put my niece down, she started to cry. She eventually fell asleep in a baby carrier strapped to my chest. It might have something to do with her father (my brother) studying lying down in the couch, Simcha sleeping on his chest.

Harel Skaat concert tonight at the Habima Theatre here in Tel Aviv. Need I say more?

I kind of wish I could combine the effects of Lightbox with the borders of Photo Effects on my Android phone. The latter won’t let me add photos previously edited in Lightbox to add the borders. So now I go without borders.

I wanted to mention that yesterday, along with the T-shirt I got another gift from another friend. It contained socks and a stick blender, a green Oriflame one. 馃檪 Those of you who follow me on Facebook will get why I was giggling uncontrollably for 20 minutes. That said, I just realized that this new stick thing is much much better than my previous Moulinex one. That was fabulous, but I suspect after 3 years of constant use it is time to replace it.

I just finished the Stars are Cold Toys duology by Sergei Lukyanenko. I don’t feel like committing to another volume of the song of fire and ice or whatever it’s called, the second and third books saturated my brain beyond help. So what should I read?

The next week: 2 birthdays and getting ready for Pesach. Maybe I should rename the blog Kosher-for-Passover Kola for a week?

    #3 That is so funny.

#6 My favorite author (well, one of them) is Barbara Pym. She is something of a contemporary Jane Austen. The nicest thing about Pym is that she has such a happy disposition and amusing way of looking at things, and while reading her I am very much the same way. Start with “Excellent Women”, I think. In any case, they are wonderful books for what ails you.

    #1 That is so sweet.

#1 was a great sacrifice on Yonah’s part, and I really apreciate him doing it.

#6 I’ll check her books out if I can get my hands on them.
